At an altitude of 1,650 metres, Illoura Lodge offers the ideal location for families, couples and singles to experience the attractions of the Australian high country for a skiing holiday, or a relaxed off-season vacation.

Illoura Lodge is located in Smiggins Holes in Kosciuszko National Park, in the heart of Australia's Snowy Mountains, approximately 500km south of Sydney. Smiggins Holes is one of the four ski resorts that have now combined to form Australia's largest ski resort, Perisher Blue. The attractions of Perisher Valley,  Blue Cow, Smiggins Holes and Guthega, and the 50 ski lifts that run around the resort, can now be enjoyed on the one combined lift ticket, and for much of the ski season, you can literally ski from the door of Illoura Lodge to them all!

Perisher Blue offers something for everyone, from the beginner slopes of Smiggins, to the exhilarating runs of Mount Perisher. There is also plenty of back country for those who enjoy the trail blazing of cross country skiing.

In the off-season, Illoura Lodge is the perfect location in which to enjoy the invigorating climate, outdoor sports such as walking, fishing and mountain biking, and the many other attractions of the Australian highlands.

Approximately 5.5 hours drive from Sydney by car, overnight parking is not permitted at the Lodge during winter. You can leave your car at nearby Sawpit Creek or Jindabyne, from where there are shuttle services available, or alternatively, you can drive to Bullocks Flat on the Alpine Way, catch the Ski Tube to Perisher Valley, then take the free shuttle bus to Smiggins Holes. During the off-season, conditions permitting, you drive and park within 30 metres of the lodge. You can also come to Smiggins Holes by coach, or you can fly to Cooma and arrange transport to Smiggins Holes from there.

If you come by car, please remember that the National Parks and Wildlife Service requires that chains are carried at all times when you are in the Kosciuszko National Park during the winter season. You will also require a valid day or yearly NPWS car pass.
